Year 1/2 Learn how to Samba

Our current topic is called Brazilian Bonanza and it is focused on Brazil because of the up-coming Olympics in Rio.  We are starting by looking at the carnival held in Rio each year.  To introduce the idea of carnivals to the children, we invited samba dancers into the school to show the children some dance moves and costumes.  They had lots of fun learning the moves and then making up their own dance routines.  We will be moving on to look more at the olympics and specifically cycling and swimming later in the term.
