This term, the children arrived back at school with their ‘All About Me’ baskets.
They will now spend time showing the class the items inside and talking about why they are special to them. In Literacy, the children will be creating a book all about themselves. It will include information writing about their homes, families and their likes and dislikes. Once completed, the books will be bound and published and shared with their friends and parents.
In Art, the children will be looking closely at their key features and creating self-portraits. These masterpieces will then be displayed within their classrooms to ensure the children feel valued and safe within their new environments. Children will also look at the work of artists such as Yinka Shonibare and Arnulf Rainer to form an opinion on other peoples’ art work.
