What homework will your children receive?

Year R:
- Your child will be expected to read 3 times a week at home. We ask parents to sign their child’s reading record to show they have read and ensure that these records are in school each day.
- Your child will also receive high frequency words each week that they need to practice reading and spelling.
- Once a term, your child will be set a ‘Take Home Task’ this is a mini project that will enhance your child’s learning. It is usually something the whole family could contribute to.
KS1 and Years 3 and 4:
- Your child will be expected to read 3 times a week at home. We ask parents to sign their child’s reading record to show they have read and ensure that these records are in school each day. Your child will also have a login for Bug Club - an online reading programme.
- Your child will receive spelling and maths homework each week. This will be linked to what they are learning in class.
- Once a half term, your child will also be set a ‘Take Home Task,’ this is a mini project that will enhance your child’s learning. It is usually something the whole family could contribute to.
Years 5 and 6:
- Your child will be expected to read 3 times a week at home. We ask parents to sign their child’s reading record to show they have read and ensure that these records are in school each day.
- Your child will receive spelling and maths homework each week. This will be linked to what they are learning in class.
- Once a half term, your child will also be set optional unit homework. These are mini projects that will enhance your child's learning.
Year 6:
- Your child will also be set additional SPAG (spelling, grammar and punctuation) homework each week to prepare them for their end of year assessments.
