Welcome from the Principal

A very warm welcome to Beacon View Primary Academy!

I’m incredibly proud to be leading our school on the next leg of its journey to success, having worked here for the past six years. Beacon View is a place close to my heart—a school full of energy, ambition, and a strong sense of community.

We believe every child has a voice, and one of our key priorities is developing oracy across the curriculum. By helping children speak with confidence and clarity, we’re not only improving their writing but also equipping them with essential life skills for the future.

At the heart of our school is a commitment to strong relationships. Our staff know our children and families well, and we work together to remove barriers to learning—whether that’s through a warm welcome at the gate, support for emotional wellbeing, or high expectations for attendance and behaviour.

We’re also working to bring a “village school” feel to Beacon View—creating more opportunities for families to be part of school life. From class assemblies and celebration events to sharing learning and successes, we want our parents and carers to feel truly connected to their child’s journey.

Our Great 8 values—Respect, Responsibility, Resilience, Confidence, Determination, Creativity, Ambition, and Enthusiasm—are at the heart of everything we do. These values guide our learning, shape our culture, and help our children grow into kind, capable, and confident individuals.

Beyond the classroom, our children enjoy a rich and exciting curriculum, with opportunities to explore the outdoors, take part in creative projects, and experience new adventures—from sports festivals and gardening to sailing residentials and more.

If you’d like to see our school in action, we’d love to welcome you. Please contact the school office to arrange a visit— it would be my pleasure to show you around.

We look forward to meeting you and sharing all that makes Beacon View such a special place to learn and grow.

Best wishes,

Catherine Williams
