It gives me great pleasure to be able to welcome you to Beacon View Primary Academy.
There are so many wonderful things that I want to share with you, and I hope that our website will give you a taste of what we do and maybe even prompt you to make a real-life visit. I am extremely proud of what we have achieved together as a school family since I joined in July 2021 and am excited for what comes ahead, I hope that you too will want to be part of our future.
OFSTED recognised that our staff know the pupils extremely well and use this information to form strong relationships with our families, this is something that is essential to the work we do. We are determined that all our children are able to access learning and we work with our families to remove any barriers. From bagels on the gates, to breathing techniques and Zones of Regulations, we work with both children and families to support our children’s SEMH needs across the school, so that they can get on with the essential skill of learning. We expect the highest standard of behaviour, that children attend every day and expect full support from our families.
In addition to our rich and broad curriculum, as part of United Learning and our Portsmouth cluster of schools, we benefit from multiple opportunities away from the classroom too, from our Forest Schools area, and edible kitchen garden project with Hampshire Gardens Trust, to sailing residentials with the UKSA. We are proud of the ‘extras’ we have added at Beacon View.
